After over 20 years of service and innumerable times used my trusty AA battery Mag-Lite shall forever remain dark. It's light shall never shine again. Cause of death was one or two Energizer batteries leaked/corroded inside and have become permanently embedded inside. RIP Mag-Lite. You and your partner in holster the Gerber Multiplier have served me both for a long time. (Someone queue the Taps song in the distance.)

I now have 3 mag-lites that do not work. After checking the mag-lite webpage, a leaked battery is probably the cause for ALL 3! I use high quality batteries, yet if this is SUCH a big problem, why not instruct your customers to change batteries every 6 months or so?! I have ~$75 worth of USELESS mag-lite products. ♥ these when they work!

Good torches I'm still using my first one that's 15 years old but disappointed with the new LED version which only lasted 2 years then the batteries melted inside it!

I have used a Maglite for years, first during my Service days with a 4 D-cell. Having used it to find my way in the dark, blinding perps and even knocking a perp down. It never failed me! So no wonder I Chose the 3 D-cell in civillian life as my torch of choice. I used it for about four years now and untill this week it never failed me. This week however temperatures dropped to the freezing Point and when I needed the Maglite it ... FAILED! I never had to use it in These conditions before and now I needed it. It let me down.... read more

I have a mag lite xl50 as my bump in the night /power out light by the bed and it works grate, I love how long it lasts when on low, the only bad things I have to say would be I wished it was just a one setting light (the current low function), add a pocket clip and make the button more positive so it doesn't come on when in the pocket I like the new tack lights but they are to bright for detailed work and don't use a normal everyday battery

third led 2-AA flashlight now dead. They just don't make the LEDs like the old bulb type. Its a shame and maglite says to return with money for shipping which costs more then the light new.
