I have a life support tag on my meter and paperwork from my Dr's stating Icannot go without power and they have shut me off twice and said to make arrangements with the hospital so Ican go there. How the hell can they do that? One day it was almost 100° .
Yet again I have no idea what is happening with my account since you continue to use a terrible online payment system. I received an email saying that my auto pay has been discontinued with no explanation and the last statement in your web portal is from April 2014. I REALLY don't want to have to call you guys every month to ask the same questions over and over again.
This utility wants to get more money from smaller users and less money from larger users. They have also quietly secured 70% of their energy from two coal plants, the 40-year old Columbia plant and the new Elm Road plant. Both plants are unreliable money pits, with nearly $1 Billion being put into retrofitting the Columbia coal plant to run until 2038 and the cost-overun, under-performing Elm Road coal plant that is expected to run until 2050! Way to chain Madison to coal, MGE.
You guys owe people money! How is that I'm not even home, my thermostat is controlled and set by me (and triple checked), coldest summer in YEARS and my bill seems to climb by $20/month. I downsized by 500sq/ft 3-4 years ago and you would think my utility bills in my certified GREEN, smaller apt would be just that- smaller but they're the same or more!! You guys are a joke. I wish I could've chosen Alliant.
First time in my life that I have been charged customer fees by a utility company! I moved to the wrong zip code. If you don't have enough usage per Madison Gas and Electric, your fees will continue to rise. Wake up Madison - the fees are going to continue to rise if the greed mongers have their way.
