About this business

Owned by celebrated restaurateur Suzanne Goin, Lucques has been the recipient of many accolades and awards since its inception. Featuring a contemporary cuisine rich in Mediterranean flavors, the menu is a hit with the crowds, owing to its seasonal take on the dishes. The crowd consists of the elite and the rates are definitely on the higher side. Nevertheless, the meal justifies the prices.

consistently good – The food is always delicious, the atmosphere lovely and comfortable, and it's a nice place to relax and catch up with friends. We love sitting at the bar or out on the patio, but on a cold night the fireplace and booths inside are great too. I always have the fish entrees and they are consistently delicious--not sure why the editorial review says to skip them but to each their own. Suzanne Goin has always had an amazing way with fish and delicious Mediterranean-style cooking, using olives, preserved lemon... read more

Wonderful place, even for a big party – This is a great place, we had about 16 people and the dinner service did not miss a beat. It is often hard to find a good restaurant that will not disappoint when it comes to larger groups. The food was absolutely delicious and the wine selection was superb as well.

Simply great food – I had heard much about Lucques and wanted to try this after being a little disappointed by AOC. Lucques was very good and I was not let down, the service was good too. The Sunday fixed menu for $40 is good value and well worth a visit - I'll be back for the regular weekly menu sometime soon - the menu changes very regularly dependent on what's locally available, so I doubt if it'd ever be dull to go back.

An LA must-visit – It's hard to strike a balance between stiff formality and the relaxation of homey comfort. Lucques pulls it off seemingly without effort -- an amount of thought goes into their dining experience that would earn someone a doctoral degree in any other field. We were seated immediately and the service was quick and attentive. Everyone from hostess to busboy was very well educated. The ingredients were amazingly fresh, and the attention that went into their preparation, from the humble to the exotic, seemed cl... read more

Not that Great... – I had dinner there last night and I was not impressed. I had heard a lot from my friends so I wanted to check it out but I was not happy with the food nor the service. I don't think I'll be back! We spent 2.5 hours in total and everything seemed to take so long. I won't return.

Service is Excellent – There is nothing that makes me happier than a waiter who doens't make me feel like I am so lucky to eat as his restaurant that he/she can just treat me like some sort of peasant. The service at Lucques is wonderful, and the food is great as well. Sunday Supper is highly recommended. The host is great too.

Wonderful experience. – We ate Lucques Sunday Night Supper last night. It was absolutely lovely. Exactly what we expected. Very cozy. Outstanding food, good wines. The wait staff is attentive and European and NOT "Hi-my-name-is-John-and-I'll-be-your-server!" The appetizer was rich and buttery, perfect to start the meal. The lamb was over the top delicious. So was dessert. Somewhat pricey as anticipated and worth it!

Excellent – You just can't go wrong at Lucques. Everything is top-notch. Loved it five years ago and even better now.

Heavenly Sunday Supper – As recent Midwest tranplants we are on a quest to visit every good restaurant in LA. Sunday we took advantage of the 3 course prix fixe menu at Lucques. We were impressed on all counts - food, service, ambience. We started with a glaas of Aracdia Chardonnay and munched on the almonds, Tuscan olives and fresh bread. The mixed bitter green salad with pomegranites, toasted walnuts and warm goat cheese was topped with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Excellent! The entre choices were a grilled pomfret w/... read more
