Lucques

About this business

Owned by celebrated restaurateur Suzanne Goin, Lucques has been the recipient of many accolades and awards since its inception. Featuring a contemporary cuisine rich in Mediterranean flavors, the menu is a hit with the crowds, owing to its seasonal take on the dishes. The crowd consists of the elite and the rates are definitely on the higher side. Nevertheless, the meal justifies the prices.

Charming, excellent food. – I often take out of town guests here. Everything is so fresh, packaged in the right atmosphere. Whether you want to say in doors or try their patio, it all feels very personal. I can't how many times east coast guests have complemented their greens as they freshest they have ever tried. Its just the "right" place to go to.

Solid, consistent food in a lovely environment – Friends were in town, big time foodies, so we wanted to show them the best LA has to offer. We choose our favorite place, Lucques, and it didn't dissappoint. Lucques delivers solid, consistent food every time in a very unpretentious, relaxed, yet totally cool environment. The pear summer salad with buratta and aged balsamic was to DIE for followed by the best "melt in your mouth" short ribs. Friends ordered the Sea Bass, Cow Cheek and the special Chicken dish. Incredible! Bon ... read more

Good food, busy restaurant, but not too noisy – I recently moved to LA and a friend recommended this place on a shortlist of top places to eat in the West Hollywood area. I've gone back twice already. The place is pricey, and each time we spent about $100/head on moderate drinking, but the food is great and ambiance really good. The room is always busy, but you can have a conversation which is key. The garden in the back is lovely. The food is rich rich rich, and if you want a salad and a fish you've got precisely one choice... read more

Very Good, AOC is better. – My husband and I went to Lucques, as we're avid fans of AOC. The food was good, quality excellent, very good service. However, if you like to have different tastes, AOC is better for that. We prefer AOC as the portions are smaller and you can have many different plates/tastes in one evening. Lucques was good, but after the appetizer and full entree we were very full. No complaints, just a personal choice of liking more to taste, hence the AOC preference. Very nice ambiance.

not worth it – We went for their Sunday Supper. Service was mediocre at best. You had the feeling they were doing you a favor. Food ingredients were of high quality. My pork chop was raw, not pink but raw. It was taken with a shrug and later returned without apology burned and still raw. Bill was delivered while we were still having dessert. We will not return, will rather go to Suzanne Goin's other restaurant A.O.C.

Underwhelmed – Friendly staff (Including Valet, Server, and Host). But reservation was lost. Main courses delivered over 40 minutes after appetizers were cleared, and when they showed up, neither was hot. Sweet Potato Beignets were excellent, but accompanied by a caramel sauce that came "out-of-the-refrigerator" cold. Very unfortunate, as I could tell the ingredient quality was exceptional, but the execution really underwhelmed. Might try again for Aunday Supper, but at $200+ for two, I absolutely didn't leave feeling like I... read more

I'd have to give it another chance Was Disappointed – The table and the service wasn't what we expected after hearing so much about Lucques. The place is really beautiful but the menu was very limited. I only liked the almonds and olives that we staretd with. We're open to going back and giving it a try on a different night other than Sat. Maybe Sunday dinner will be better. this first visit wasn't what it could have been

Cozy and Romantic – I loved the olives, and the almonds with the coarse salt. I could have had them for my entree...but thank goodness I saved room for the delectable dinner I had. The restaurant has a cozy feel, and it feels like you are in a Cabin in Colorado. Food was delicious, I definitely recommend going to this restaurant.

Really good food! – I and my girlfriend went here for my B-day and it was a really nice experience. very cozy atmosphere-- not stuffy at all and the food was great. A great rabbit dish and the wine choices were really good as well. The service was cordial and attentive. A must try if you've never been.
