Louie Mueller's BBQ is on my Top Three List of the best BBQ in the world! The day I went in was after the big lunch rush so I didn't wait in line. The ladies were so nice to me--answering questions--& without me asking, sliced of a nice lil sample of their moist, tender brisket with that touch of peppery crust on the edge...I can just taste it now! This place is amazing! The brisket is like tasting heaven. Perfect char w/ a perfect amount of fat. The atmosphere is so authentic. Love it!
Louie Mueller bbq is perfect. Enjoy the drive out to Taylor enjoy the barbecue then you can rate it better than anything else you had and then go home. This is where the Family Tree of Central Texas barbecue starts. In my opinion of course.
Good food, but no A/C!! Not sure what they call "sauce". Was very different from any I've ever had.

True Texas taste for the trio of brisket, ribs and sausage. Perfect smokey flavor. And the peach cobbler is out of this planet!!!

Lo these many years I have sung the praises of Louie Mueller's BBQ... I live about an hour away and only get down there about once a month. I was a competion cook for years and then chief judge of a central Texas 100+ team cook off for a number of years. Went to Louie's this past Sunday.... the brisket was wonderful as always...but then they gave me a plastic cup containing a watery...almost tasteless...ugly liquid which failed to enhance any part of the meal.
