I was born and raised in Taylor when your Grandfather was still in charge. We stopped in Friday and got some things to take with us. While I appreciate BBQ and don't mind paying more for USDA Prime(as your signs read). I was really disappointed that evening that only 1/2 of my 1/2 pound of brisket was lean......I ended up making the other fatty half into chopped beef so as not to waste my money.......which in my opinion is what you should have done to it before you sold it to me. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of coleslaw. Washed it all down with a Big Red of course. The brisket was superbly done. Smokey, well seasoned and very tender -- leaving nothing to be desired. The coleslaw was a touch peppery, but good flavor nonetheless. When you order any sort of sandwich with copious amounts of meat on it, you need said meat to be tender; otherwise, you'll destroy the entire sandwich trying to pry each bite from the clutches of overcooked meat hell . I had the distinct pleasure of eating there this past week, it was a meal I'll never forget. Been on my bucket list for a long time, and they did not disappoint! My only regret was not going w/o food for 2 days prior, so I could have sampled more of the fantastic BBQ.
