brunch brilliance – i've been going to london for many years now and its always been great, but i just discovered the brunch. the menu is perfect. of course they have the famous london burger on there but the oatmeal pancakes and the banana-challah french toast were outstanding. just another reason to make london a favorite.
a great find – I went to the London Grill with my wife and some friends for my birthday last week. I heard that it had a great dinner menu in the dinning room and a great bar menu so we went to try out both. Surprised! – I had never eaten in this restauraunt until one day last week when I went to try a different restaurant in the neighborhood and they were closed for the night. I was absolutely thrilled with the service, and the food. The crowd was very diverse, ranging from artsy 20-somethings to business dinners, to romantic outings, to a large rowdy group in the corner, truly eclectic. Don't skip it! – I am a cook from Crown City Ohio and I was in Philadelphia beacause of a death and we had a large private dinner in their banquet room. We were such a bother to them(i know because i'm in the bis)and they were so understanding and good with us. Not to mention the food and atmosphere was great. Don't skip this one.
Still holds its own ... – ... in the influx of new Fairmount restaurants, London still deserves its place as a neighborhood classic. I don't feel compelled to eat there often, but when I do, I'm never disappointed. Never impressed either, but most diners don't seem to want to be impressed or are too easily dazzled by anything they wouldn't prepare in their kitchen.
It's my Philly "Cheers" – I discovered it 10 years ago when I was attending CCP and I have to say, it's the best place to bring a new date. The atmosphere is cozy, you can actually hear each other and the food is fabulous. I keep coming back for more, although I live over an hour away!
