A very special dining experience!!! – I was just in Philadelphia for the weekend and stopped into London for a bite after a day with Family at the Art Museum. We were seated almost immediately and greeted by staff willing to take our coats and get us started immediately (we were told we were a little early for dinner but that they would accomodate). The grilled Salmon was phenomenal, and we were very impressed with the lengthy appetizer selections. The atmostphere of the dining room was lovely, as we sat in a glass-windowed ... read more

Warm, homey place – I've been to the London Grill numerous times over the years and it rarely, if ever, fails to deliver. I would say that London Grill is the perfect spot for those dreary, rainy, dark weekend days when the only thing to do is relax at the bar and enjoy some steak frites and some fine beers. A nice bar with friendly servers can cure anyone's ill. But it is a fine place to eat anytime; always on my short list of places to go when I want some great grub and some fine service. A true neighborhood bar with an ab... read more

fantastic under pressure – We came to London Grill on one of the busiest nights I have ever seen! There were lines all around for the halloween tours, and parking was a bit tough. The food was a little slow (to be expected with all those people) but turned out to be worth the wait! The staff was super nice and the manager (I think her name was Jen) did everything in her power to make the experience a pleasurable one. And it was! With all those people milling about demanding tables without reservations, she managed to smile -... read more

avoid like the plague! – i was there the other night and i ran into the worst service ever. everything went wrong from the fake and phony hostess who smiled at us one minute and rolled her eyes at us the next to our food which was less than average. it took way too long (and i know that sometimes things happen because i used to work at a restaurant) and was not even warm when it arrived. i usually stop in for fish and chips which are great when you can stop in when the restaurant is not busy. our waiter was constantly disapp... read more

This neighborhood staple offers ambitious Asian and Latin American dishes. – In Short London Grill, whose ambitious kitchen has attracted a following since the 1991, fills its front room with an upscale bar crowd--and its back dining room, glassed-in greenhouse and sidewalk tables with more serious dining patrons. The ever-changing menu gives the impression that this eatery's trying to stay ahead of local dining trends. The chef defines his menu as New American.

Food Ok, Service Lousy – Waited by the door, having been told we'd be taken care of. Couple mins later we were still there, so we grabbed a recently vacated table. Sat there for 10 mins before a passing waitress acknowledged us and said she would be with us in a few minutes. 5 minutes later, still no service. Eventually grabbed another waitress who told us she didn't realise we were new customers as the table was still dirty Told us she be with us shorltly. We gave a drink order and she returned 10 minutes later with 2 glass... read more

Can't believe this is a "best of" – We decided to give London Grille a second chance despite the terrible service on our first visit, because our first meal was at an off hour. Our second visit was a saturday evening. The place wasn't packed, but the service was terrible - among the worst we have experienced in philadelphia. We were completely ignored by our waiter, our food was very, very late (we honestly believe he forgot to put in the order). The overpriced "chilled" iceberg salad was lukewarm and the entrees were medioc... read more

the long wait – We thought it would be nice to enjoy the outside on one of the first beautiful days of the season, little did we know a quick lunch would turn into a 2+ hour affair. The service was easily the worst part. I'm not high maintenance, but 15 min after being seated the waitress finally took our drink order. 20 min later I waved her down and gave her our lunch order and reminded her of our drink order. 15 min later our drinks came out. About 15 min later our food came out and was pretty cold. I got the fish and chi... read more

Saturday Brunch at London Grill was great! – My boyfriend and I went to London Grill today for brunch after a winter tour of Eastern State Penitentiary. First off, the make your own Bloody Mary bar is worth the trip itself! For 5.00 you get to make your bloody with all sorts of spices, tomato juice mixes and pickles and relishes! Yum My boyfriend had the normal chicken wings and nachos, which were spot on, and I opted for creme brulee French Toast, which was the best French Toast I ever had. The server was cute and really fr... read more
