I own a 2x7x33 ultimate slam mounted on a CVA Optima. It is a tack driver. Based on my previous experience I purchased a second hand 3x9x40 ultimate slam for a H&R 20 ga. I know buying glass second hand is risky. Could not get the H&R sighted in. Called tech line with a explanation and they said send it in. Leupold optics are great! A Leupold is on every scoped gun I have, and I've never had an issue. Leupold is the only scope that holds up on my S&W X-frame!
I at one time respected Leupold as one of the leading manufactures of quality optics. My recent encounter with their customer service department has changed my opinion.I purchased an Ultimate Slam 3 x 9 x 40 mm scope and put it on a new Accura V2 LR muzzleloader. I tried to sight it in but regardless of the adjustments made the shot pattern would not move. I sent it back to Leupold and Stevens and it was rebuilt. Bought my first Leupold scope to replace the one on my favorite deer rifle. Every adjustment to move point of impact resulted in scope over adjusting, 1/4" adjustment on scope resulted in 3 1/2" change at 100 yards. (Amounts of over correction varied from an 1" to 3 1/2") Sent scope in with explanation of what it was doing, after going through fives boxes of ammunition, having scope mounts changed, and having barrel inspected for nicks in crown. Lost a turret cap, and couldn't find new ones to purchase, so I called, they are sending me new ones free of charge!! What a great company!
Excellent warranty program. That means the world to a guy that really uses his gear. Owned a pair of Acadia binos for 5 years, had a minor issue with them focusing. Sent them back to Leupold and the good folks sent me a brand new pair. Now a lifetime customer!
