Very Good! – I was just there for a big family celebration dinner (10 adults) and it was so very good! It took us a while to figure out what to order because we loved all the dishes. The drinks are very good - even if you aren't a mix drinker like me - I got the Italian Punch drink, it was wonderful. My brother, who is a big wine person and knows his stuff, was very pleased with the selections. All of us were absolutely pleased with the entire meal, service and ambience of the restaurant. I am planning on going back soon wit... read more

Best in Philly – By far this is the best Italian food in Philadelphia! The gnocchi was excellent and melted in my mouth. I had the pleasure of meeting the Chef Brian Wilson who was extremely kind and gracious. I predict that this Chef will be on of the next top Chefs in the field. You heard it here first!

OK Food...Terrible service – This was our second time here-the first was disappointing, but after friends went and loved it, we decided to give it a second try. Well this time was no better. The service was rude. We had to ask if there were any fish specials( there are no seafood entrees on the dinner menu). All four of us had different pasta appetizers which were average at best. The 2 fish specials were trout and bass. The bass was dry and tasteless. We ordered a red and a white wine and after the waiter opened them, we we... read more

Le Castagne Misses the Point – Recently went to Le Castagne for dinner. Initially I was very excited about going there, and enjoyed a nice drink at the bar pior to dinner. The setting was excellent. After my party arrived we learned they did not have our reservations (as Jerry Seinfeld would say, "you know how to TAKE the reservation, you just don't know how to HOLD the reservation")... this is after they called us back to confirm the reservations. NOTE, they do not have assigned waiters to each table and "tag team" service ... read more

Great Food, Bad Service – Great Italian restaurant and the food is delicous! However, the wait staff is SLOW and had a bit of an attitude (we experienced everything from snotty to cocky). For dinner, I had the bruchetta, filet, and tiramisu - all to die for! My friend had the gnocchi and loved it as well. The restaurant is a little on the loud side and there is a very unattractive, fluorescent piece of art on the wall that they should take down immediately. Definitely try this restaurant, but I would suggest sitting in the f... read more

Upscale dining, good service and beautiful food. – Le Castagne can best be described as upscale Italian. You may not find pizza and meatballs on the menu, but you'll always love the carefully prepared entrees, excellent service and a great ambiance.

Excellent choice for Italian – This very modern-looking, large restaurant serves up an excellent menu of Northern Italian cuisine. I strongly recommend the mushroom puff pastry appetizer, although everything I tried was outstanding. Portions are more than adequate--unless you're truly ravenous (or want plenty of leftovers) I recommend the appetizer size of the pastas. Nice extensive wine list with choices from around the world. Service was a little spotty but not so bas as to detract from the experience. Save room for desser... read more

Excellent Food – Recently, just got back from lunch and was overall very satisfied with my experience. The service started off a little slow as we had to wait for a menu and then to order, but once we had their attention we were well looked after and waitstaff was knowledgable about the wine list. The food portions were ideal (not so large if you want to be stuffed but enough to have three courses and not be hungry until a late dinner). I think this restaurant is a hidden gem in the corporate side of Center City. Prices were... read more
