Our story begins in 1952, in the small fishing village of Mola di Bari, in Puglia - the region best known as the heel of Italy's "boot." There, Antonio Vetrati met and married Maria Innamorato. With his family held close to his heart, & with little money, no plans and speaking only a few words of English, Antonio traveled to the United States and found work in a New Jersey pizzeria. We stumbled We stumbled into this restaurant as the others in the area had limited gluten-free offerings; a wonderful accident. Upon entering--on a Sunday evening--we immediately noted a jazz duo and a number of groups that seemed to be in for the evening. Our server explained the specials and suggested an inexpensive bottle of wine. It was perfect.
This place is amazing. This place is amazing. Quaint, little Italian cafe across the street from the Crowne Plaza San Marcos hotel. I had the homemade chicken soup and it was so good I went back a second time for it! They have daily lunch specials for $6.00. Huge portions, great service, lovely ambiance, and home cooked goodness! You won't be disappointed.
We love Italian food, We love Italian food, and we were thrilled to find La Stalla right across from our hotel. We were so pleased, in fact, that we returned the following night! Our first night centered on the pasta. It was excellent. I had the Papparadelle with scallops and porcini mushrooms, which was wonderful!
A hidden gem of a place, A hidden gem of a place, I had a great pizza here for dinner one night. Located just across the street from my hotel, it was within walking distance. Definitely worth the trip for their pizza!
A local favorite This is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything we have tried on the menu is delicious and authentic. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is usually very good. Definitely the best Italian in the area. Would highly recommend. Excellent pizza with $5/pie lunch specials on the weekend - fantastic.
Wonderful family Wonderful family owned and operated Italian restaurant in downtown Chandler AZ. Food is out of this world and very reasonably priced. Have a great Happy Hour each day from 4-6PM. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
The Best Italian Food Ever! In order to review an Italian restaurant properly - it helps to be from Italian heritage. After 50 some years of tasting sauces from around the country and thousands of Sunday's of grandmother's sauce - I can say with authenticity that the spaghetti sauces, masala sauces, wild boar sauce... are the best I have eaten - ever!
We are regulars at La Stalla We are regulars at La Stalla for multiple reasons! The staff is at tentative, the food is above and beyond the chain restaurants, and the Tiramasu is the best I have eaten, even better than what I experienced in Italy! They have a great lunch menu that is affordable and plentiful!! Pizza made in their own wood burning oven and outside...
I have visited La Stalla I have visited La Stalla twice over a 3 month period, both for 'occasion' dinners. One was a birthday dinner in June, and the 2nd was Dinner with Friends and Family on a holiday. For both occasions, you kind of want a 'sure thing', and La Stalla does not disappoint. Good food, service, prices, atmosphere. You can't go wrong.
