Our story begins in 1952, in the small fishing village of Mola di Bari, in Puglia - the region best known as the heel of Italy's "boot." There, Antonio Vetrati met and married Maria Innamorato. With his family held close to his heart, & with little money, no plans and speaking only a few words of English, Antonio traveled to the United States and found work in a New Jersey pizzeria. This place is amazing. Quaint, little Italian cafe across the street from the Crowne Plaza San Marcos hotel. I had the homemade chicken soup and it was so good I went back a second time for it! They have daily lunch specials for $6.00. Huge portions, great service, lovely ambiance, and home cooked goodness! You won't be disappointed.
We love Italian food, and we were thrilled to find La Stalla right across from our hotel. We were so pleased, in fact, that we returned the following night! Our first night centered on the pasta. It was excellent. I had the Papparadelle with scallops and porcini mushrooms, which was wonderful!

A hidden gem of a place, A hidden gem of a place, I had a great pizza here for dinner one night. Located just across the street from my hotel, it was within walking distance. Definitely worth the trip for their pizza!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything we have tried on the menu is delicious and authentic. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is usually very good. Definitely the best Italian in the area. Would highly recommend. Excellent pizza with $5/pie lunch specials on the weekend - fantastic.
