DON'T EVEN BOTHER!!! I'm not sure why people rave about this place or their "amazing margaritas"? The margaritas aren't anything special at all. Plus, there are tons of other Mexican restaurants all over the city that are way better in every way. Why would I want to drive all the way downtown to hope that I can park somewhere remotely nearby, walk to the restaurant, have to sit and wait for a table which could take anywhere up to an hour or more, order food that I haven't ever been impressed with, and have gratuity already a... read more
I frequent La Fuente about once every other month and the food is always good and the service fair. I know they get swamped so I just tolerate it. As a vegetarian I love to go there because their veggie tacos with black beans and yellow rice are great - no animal fat! I still think they are one of the most reasonably priced for the quality.
So.. I'm vegan. I love La Fuente for their chips n salsa and rice and beans. That's about all I can eat there, so I usually just order "rice and beans." I've been going there a lot lately and I've consistently gotten dirty looks from the waiter when they ask what I want and I reply with "rice and beans." They might think I'm being cheap, but I'm just VEGAN!
La Fuente cooks don't even eat here! Don't waste your time or money at this dump.
La Fuente is scary!!! This place has gone down hill. The patio is nice but the margaritas are BAD, the food is below average and the service SUCKED! Not to mention the automatic gratuity for any size group. I also did not feel safe here there was no manager on duty at all. Do NOT waste your time, there are too many Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee to risk your life here.
Worst Mexican Resturante in Milwaukee – Waitress told our table our food took so long because of my side of mole sauce. Funny thing was she forgot to bring me my mole sauce. The margaritas are no tasty at all and the food was just average. Do not wast your time here unless you can bring in your own food to their nice patio.
If you try to get a bite ot eat here or drink, expect to wait a long time. And when u get the bills, check it over a few times becz this place is notorious for adding gratuity, and other extras on the bill. This has happened numerous times when my colleagues and I dine there, so that is why we donnot go there anymore.
Good drinking environment; Fun atmosphere – I love after work drinking during the summer at this restaurant. The outdoor area is spacious. This is the Mexican restaurant where the suburbians come for Mexican. Food is just okay. Expect a social environment that is good for group dining.
Best In Town – Best mexican restaurant around. The food is excellent, waitstaff hustles, and the margaritas will knock you on your azz. Have a blast everytime I eat there. Mucho excellente!!!
