Awful. my surgery for a hip replacement was a few years ago, went through the front of leg. I couldn't walk or even roll to a side on a bed. He released me from the hospital. I did all the PT at home but it felt like it was put in wrong or my leg were the wrong height. Could barely walk and had a horrible dip. Finally my PT said stop doing PT, something is very wrong and go back to your Dr., I did and Dr. Mitts watched me walk and I discussed all the pain I was in. Surgery and post-op were wonderful and the support services through BMC were professional and met my needs. I had minimal site pain, adequately controlled with medication and initial knee function was surprisingly good. I unreservedly recommend Dr. Mitts to anyone requiring this surgery as his skills are incredible!
My 87(not a typo!) year-old mother fell while skiing, broke her femur and was rushed to Berkshire Medical Center. We are not from the Berkshire area and had no idea of what to expect. Dr Mitts and his excellent team successfully performed emergency surgery to insert a titanium rod. He patiently explained everything clearly to my mom who is hard of hearing. I highly recommend Dr Mitts as well as the staff at Berksire Medical center. Total professionals.
I had Dr Mitts for an anterior hip replacement. The surgery went very well. I experienced little to no pain. He was very professional in a friendly way-answered my questions and my concerns. I would definitely go to Dr Mitts if any future surgeries are ever needed.
Dr. Mitts is about to do my second total knee replacement. He is not only an excellent clinician and surgeon, but is approachable ,welcomes questions, and engages in a dialogue about the physical findings, diagnosis and plan of care. Dr. Mitts is very straight forward telling you what to expect, easy and hard. The outcome of my first knee replacement exceeded my expectations and I look forward to another successful outcome under his care
I founded Dr. Mitts to be personable and very knowledgeable. I would strongly recommend him. He answered any questions I had; no question was too small for him to answer.
He was professional and attentive. I broke my tibia from a ski accident. I was not from the Bershire area, so I was not ready to have a surgery. However I spoke to the staff at Bershire Hospital. Everybody said that Dr Mitts is a great surgeon. Dr Mitts operated on me the next day. The operation was a success. The staff was great at Bershire Medical Center. Dr Mitts was great. I would recommend Dr Mitts to my friends or anyone.
