History Established in 1949. On February 24, 1949, Kern Employee's Federal Credit Union was officially established to serve the employees who worked for the County of Kern. At that time, there were approximately 60 members and $1,500 in assets. In 1980, we changed our name to Kern Federal Credit Union in order to extend our membership to anyone who works, lives, or worships in Kern County. I absolutely LOVE Strata Credit Union. Customer service is top notch. Mayra has been the teller to help me on multiple occasions and she is always very sweet and and greets me with a smile, she even asks how the family is doing. My new Strata debit card was lost in the mail, and Mayra was able to get me a replacement on the spot and even explained to me how to update card info using CARD SWAP service they provide! Thank you Strata, and thank you Mayra!
This bank, but especially Amber Webster, has been great to work with! She went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of. She made getting setup there a breeze and made me genuinely feel like she has my best interest in mind! I highly recommend using Strata. Everyone who has assisted me there has been great and it seems like they are using a more contemporary type of business model and it shows in how they operate and the in the attitudes of their employees.

I have been with Strata for about a year now. When I do my banking I normally got to the downtown branch as my favorite teller Marissa is down there. She recently moved to the branch on coffee, so I switched all my banking to that branch. Marissa is very professional and helpful every time when I need help with my banking. I recently had some transactions that were not authorized by me. Marissa took care of the situation immediately.
