Dr. Lawhorn went into a lot of detail explaining the nature and extent of my condition. He gave the pros and cons of TKA, and all that I needed to make an informed decision The follow up after the uneventful surgery was thorough. I could not have been more pleased.
Had an appointment for Dr Lawhorn to review MRI results and make recommendations for future care. Dr Lawhorn asked questions and did some physical assessments. I have a rotator cuff injury. Dr Lawhorn clearly stated the treatment plan, both short term and long term, and issued a referral for physical therapy.
went to Dr Lawhorn for a second opinion regarding the need for a shoulder replacement. After reviewing my X-ray, discussing my level of pain and restrictions, and performing some range of motion tests he confirmed the need for a total shoulder replacement. I found Dr Lawhorn engaged and listened to my input. After speaking with him and being provided clear description of the process and recovery I decided to chose him as my surgeon. Dr. Lawhorn was patient and guiding as we tried conservative treatment before I opted for total knee replacement. He was thorough in the ups and downs of the procedure. I’m quite satisfied with the results thus far (10 months out from left knee surgery, and two months from right knee). Post-op follow up in both cases has net or exceeded my expectations.
Go to orthopedic surgeon for our whole family. Always the best
Made an appointment with the doctor for elbow tendinitis, but never actually saw the doctor. I was given an x-Ray, a cortisone shot, a brace and some exercises. The shot was given by the nurse practitioner. I was never examined by the doctor. He poked his head in the doorway and cracked a few jokes and I was sent on my way. If I wanted Rodney dangerfield I would have gone on YouTube . The treatment didn’t help. I am still in pain. I will never go back to this doctor. I guess my injury wasn’t significant enough for this medic... read more
Recently had second post op review of shoulder surgery. Everything seems to be progressing correctly.
Dr Lawhorn is very knowledgeable, caring, and attentive to detail. An excellent surgeon.
Dr Lawhorn is wonderful. He puts you at ease with his wealth of knowledge, experience and demeanor. He provides options and lets you decide…doesn’t push you to surgery immediately like many surgeons do. I chose surgery (rotator cuff) and am so glad I did. I am two weeks out and while still recovering, I already feel much better than I did before! Highly recommend Dr Lawhorn.
