We are one of many Kansas City barbeque restaurants around the city but unlike most we still serve barbeque in that true KC tradition. And by Kansas City tradition we simply mean that we are preparing our barbeque and food products today as it has been done in the midwest for over 100 years! Overall, simplicity is the key word in our operation. To this day, the atmosphere and cooking methods have virtually remained unchanged, evoking a pleasant step back in time and memories of fantastic BBQ.

Every thing was very good but the pull pork was to dry.
I got the ribs and my daughter got the pulled pork sandwich. The ribs were great. I loved the cheesy corn. My daughter wolfed down the sandwich. Only one downer. I managed to squeeze the "house" bbq sauce bottle too hard. Made quite a mess!!! But the food was good and the staff friendly. I'd come back again.
My husband and I were traveling through going to Kansas my husband has a lot of food allergies the young lady that was there was very patient make sure she asked the cook how the ham was cooked so that my husband would not get sick the food was delicious I have never had service or food that awesome in a long time for the people that are writing bad reviews you don't know what you're talking about or maybe you just got a bad day but we had a wonderful time and on our way back to Georgia we will be stopping with our son thank... read more
I love this place the good has been great every time I eat here
My daughter and I were traveling from Kansas thru Missouri on our way home to Michigan and saw their signs and stopped, we really enjoyed the food, it was the best bbq we have ever had. Also had great friendly service, I hope we get to stop there again on our travels
This place is so freakin good im a truck driver have eat in all over the country this ranks in top 3 ribs and pork to die for thanks guys AWSOME
My husband and I who live in oak grove love the bbq! The cheesy corn and Carolina pulled pork Is always good. The reason I give it a four is it is way overpriced. I feel if they lowered the price even a smudge or even daily specials we would eat here more regularly! The service and food are 5 stars but the prices is more like a 3 star.
Not good. Saw the signs on I-70 thought I would give it try on a Sunday at lunch time. There was one family there eating that's it. I swear I heard a microwave being turned on to heat up my meat. Meat tasted like it was old and re heated. I just got a pulled pork sandwich.
I went to this place on Monday I forgot Bate City BBQ was closed on Mondays! But I wasn't to impressed. If I am in the area I just want stop and eat BBQ on Mondays! Zarda & Bates City has the best BBQ in KANSAS METRO AREA! Only one that voted this place number 1 BBQ in Kansas City is the man that works in the kitchen! LOL! I give him a 3 for trying!
