I went to the humane society yesterday in hopes of finding a new friend. I found a dog that stole my heart so I went to the desk and got myself in line to meet with him formally. I was told that there was one person in line to visit him ahead of me. We texted and got our place in the queue. It said that there was over two hours before we could be seen. By all means, use the que texting system. The wait is long, but for 2 hours of my 2 hr and 20 minute wait, I was across town. Great facility, great staff!
My family adopted a dog here and they gave us pills for her cause she has heartworms! They forgot to tell us that she needs shots also to get rid of them. Until after we got attached to her. Each shot is about 300.00 per shot. So now we have the dog and paid 150.00 adoption fee. Plus 3 shots at a cost of 300.00 per total of 900.00 to 1000.00 after all done plus rabies and other shots that she needs. So 150.00 isn't all you pay to adopt a dog . I wanted to make sure I clarify this situation. I know it can be confusing. The $300 you were quoted, was for the total cost of the heart worm treatments. We appreciate your willingness to adopt a heart worm positive dogs and we want to do everything we can to help reduce the costs. The $300 covers KHS's costs for the treatment. Yes, there are 3 treatments but each would be $100. I hope you will give KHS another chance. We will make sure to correct our documentation so this confusion doesnt happen again.

I'm fostering a cat for a homeless lady. She was living in her broken down SUV with her cat because no shelter would take her in with an animal.
