The staff is amazing! I found a dog on 1-35 this morning and called and the receptionist(I believe that was her title) was amazing and gave me many options on what I could do with this dog I found. I ended up there and she help me get the dog out of my car and into a safety box outside animal control. She was super sweet and loving to the dog. I thanked her but just wanted everyone to know how awesome she was!
Both Dogs are under review after they escaped; officers have deemed them "dangerous" through some unexplained method as well as charging us every day for their boarding fees; even though they have forced us to bring our dogs to the shelter. The alternative at this point is to let our dogs die. That's what the Kansas Animal Control puts on the table as an ultimatum. Pay or They Die. Win the Appeal, or They die.

Any animals that are picked up as strays, lost, or are being held for legal reasons are kept at the Wichita Animal Shelter, which is owned and operated by the city. The experience was horrible picking up my dog today! Most everyone extremely rude and not helpful at all! Its not like I come in everyday and knkw the procedure!!!! Seriously you can't just take the paper and slide it across the counter like normal people do rather than like a 2 year old!!
