Kabuki

4.3

About this business

Kabuki usually refers to Japanese theater of the 17th Century. However, in this case it refers to innovative sushi created by a dedicated staff of master chefs. Their goal is to present a menu filled with umai, or deliciousness in every bite. This selection includes volcano Sushi (baked spicy tuna), rose roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy tuna), and miso marinated black cod. Finish off your meal with Mochi ice cream and you will leave with the flavor of umai, but also with happiness, or Ureshii.

Not the BEST but still recommendable!!! – This place is pretty good... not as bad as the comment above... pretty good quality of food... especially ginger shrimp on crispy rice!!! the best!! place is big for a japanese restaurant!!! price is reasonable and affordable !!! But it's not recommended for a romatic dinner for a couple!!! however, it's good for birthday parties or any kind of celebration!! i had my birthday dinner there and they treated us with a complimentary ice cream and a birthday song!!

Give it a miss – I want to find who's rating this place 'best sushi'. The food here is mediocre, the service is passable but not that great, and even the 'half-price' isn't all that much of a deal, since you're not getting good food. Half priced crud is still crud. Frankly, I'd rather pay a bit more and get really good fish. I wouldn't even recommend the non-sushi options, as they're not that impressive, either. Pass, pass, pass. I cannot imagine why you'd eat here at all. There's a really good sushi place that's within walk... read more

Kabuki in Hollywood is awful – Our experience in this restaraunt was awful. We we're seated in the afternoon and the place filled up fairly quickly. The service was exremely slow and the server was rude to boot. It took a very long time to get drinks and our sushi was up in the window for a very, very long time before the server brougt it out to us. Then, to make things worse, they screwed up our order and we had to wait for it to be corrected. Unfortunately, the sushi itself was not worth the wait and settling our check too... read more

User review by sujjang – I've been trying to find a good sushi restaurant in LA, and thought I would give the Kabuki in Hollywood a try because of all the reviews. Unfortunately, the service was really bad- we didn't even have a waiter! Our food was sitting out on the table for someone to bring it to us for over 20 minutes. After I went to the person who took our order, he said that someone else was our waiter, who must not have known they were because we never got any service. Our food was cold, and the quality sucked. Don'... read more

cheap enjoyable sushi! – i don't come here for the best or fresh sushi, but it is VERY affordable and chill here. i love their dinner specials. affordable black cod dinner that i love! the spicy lobster roll and spicy tuna salad are great as well. their items are hit or miss though. anyways, great menu with prices to match. can't beat that!

Great Cheap Eats. – The atmosphere is a little "Las Vegas" and the service wasn't all that great, but Kabuki has decent sushi for a great price! The fancy drink I had was quite stiff as well. If you are on a budget, you can afford to eat and drink here.

User review by mstein – After living in Japan it has been hard to find good Japanese food and this food is excellent. The price was good also. I highly recommend Kabuki.
