Kabuki usually refers to Japanese theater of the 17th Century. However, in this case it refers to innovative sushi created by a dedicated staff of master chefs. Their goal is to present a menu filled with umai, or deliciousness in every bite. This selection includes volcano Sushi (baked spicy tuna), rose roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy tuna), and miso marinated black cod. Finish off your meal with Mochi ice cream and you will leave with the flavor of umai, but also with happiness, or Ureshii.

Bad Food – Food was horrible, no taste or creativity. Service was good and friendly. Decor is nice, but the food is so bad that it takes away from anything good about this place.
SoCal Japanese mini-chain satisfies with solid, well-priced sushi , teriyaki, noodles and beyond. – In Short Interiors boast sleek, modern design, with an eye toward mixing traditional decor with more trendy elements like track lighting and exposed brick. All branches are located near major shopping areas such as Old Town Pasadena, Cerritos South Street and in the Howard Hughes Center. The menu features entrees such as tempura, teriyaki, hibachi plates; noodle dishes like udon and soba; and a full range of sushi. Full bar av... read more
Best green tea ice cream, EVER! – My boyfriend and I were shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond and decided to give Kabuki a shot. The sashimi was okay, not bad and the rolls we had were pretty good. (can't remember which ones) But, the Fried, yes, FRIED, Geen Tea Ice Cream was SO good! It's green tea ice cream, wrapped with pound cake and then fried in tempura batter. Yum! You have to go there just for this dessert! I've only lived in LA for 4 months and have been twice now...so far, it's our favorite sushi place, but I'm still sea... read more
big, loud, and just so convenient – I go to Kabuki a lot. Because it's the best sushi in town? No. It's big. You don't need a reservation and they'll seat you pretty quickly. It's extremely convenient if you're seeing a movie at the ArcLight. Really good apple martinis (do not have more than one if you're driving or you WILL get a DUI.) But do have one, YUM! Complimentary edamame, which is a nice touch. Miso never hot enough. California rolls are good and so is most all sushi. Reasonably priced. If you want a smaller scale (... read more
Not to be dismissed - Kabuki is a contender – The thing about Kabuki is, it's a somewhat large place, and there are multiple locations. So you are not going to make this your favorite 'little' sushi spot. But with that said, the quality is pretty good. After all, it's not like you are eating off a buffet in Vegas - this is good, hand cut sushi - and they have a full menu and full bar, which is nice. The wait staff is usually young and friendly. They can handle a crowd, so don't back down if it's Friday night and you want to ... read more
well-priced Sushi – I read a lot about the bad service of Kabuki here, but I didn't agree it all. We dined at their old Pasendena's store at the Veteran's Day, though it was crowded and busy, the dishes were served constantly. We ordered sushi, sushi mi, everything were quiet fresh, you wouldn't expect they were those traditional sushi you can eat at Japan, it's a bit American style, large portion, but they were still adorable! Athough the teriyaki was a bit bland not very impressed. And they are not pricey, we ordered so ma... read more
3 Strikes and You're Out!!! – The first time we went to one of the Kabuki Restaurant Chain (Hollywood) I thought it was pretty good --food-wise-- even though the service was really slooooooow. I figured it was because the restaurant was busy. We tried Kabuki again, this time in Pasadena, where the food wasn't as good and still the service was very, very slow AND unattentive. Restaurant wasn't even crowded this time. The third time we went because it was the only restaurant open after a screening we attended. The service was ... read more
Great Table Service, Bad Sushi – We were quickly seated, my server came in seconds, took the order, refilled our drinks constantly, (+A table service), but it took forever for the sushi and it wasn't even busy. The server told us it's going to take a while for the sushi to come. I saw the sushi chefs joking around with each other ( yeah, we were watching because we were hungry), We had to wait for 25 minutes before the sushi actually plated. My server took the plate to our table immediately, to make it worst the sushi is awf... read more
affordable sushi~ – This is the best place to eat on a night out in Hollywood~ Everything on their menu is well-priced, considering it is sushi and it is Hollywood... The wait wasn't that long considering it was a Friday night, and the environment is hip (they're always playing good music), but casual at the same time. Their B.S.C.R. it my favorite roll!
