Kabuki usually refers to Japanese theater of the 17th Century. However, in this case it refers to innovative sushi created by a dedicated staff of master chefs. Their goal is to present a menu filled with umai, or deliciousness in every bite. This selection includes volcano Sushi (baked spicy tuna), rose roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy tuna), and miso marinated black cod. Finish off your meal with Mochi ice cream and you will leave with the flavor of umai, but also with happiness, or Ureshii.

Best Sushi I have every had – Now I was one of the people who said I was never going to eat Sushi, but my friend insisted I try! Now I am addicted. So far Kabuki is the best I have ever had! All the way from Alaska to Washington, to California, to Arizona. I can't wait to go back to LA to have Kabuki Sushi again! It was just a wonderful and an accident we only went in there because we could not find the Restaurant where we had reservations. So we found Kabuki with no reservation and had a little bit of a wait but it was unbe... read more
BAD SERVICE, not recommended. – I have been to the Kabuki in Pasadena, Cerritos, Howard Hughes Parkway and Burbank. It's typically quick no-fuss and decent Japanese food with very affordable prices. I went to visit the Hollywood Kabuki location about a month ago, and the service was HORRIBLE. We were seated right away, however it took forever for our server to come to our table, take our order, and when we did finally place our order, it took FOREVER to get our food. The restaurant was maybe half full!!! And it looked like t... read more
pretty revolting – This restaurant is very surprisingly self-billed as the "finest in traditional Japanese cuisine", which it definitely not. I would call it the "most predictable in chain-food, california-influenced Japanese-derived muck". The food is over-seasoned and over-sauced. While the dishes are identifiable as Japanese, they have been modified to suit what Kabuki thinks is the American palate. And the result is pretty yucky. The space is also incredibly loud. Our server could neither hear us, nor really understand u... read more
affordable sushi for everyday! – I had lunch at the Hollywood location about a week ago and I thought it was great. Very convenient too (I work in Hollywood). I love sushi and with their lunch or dinner half-price discount it makes it affordable if I wanted to eat there everyday. A colleague and I met there and shared 3 rolls and some sashimi, both had miso and beverages and the bill was only $30. Their menu offers such a wide selection that every time I go I have so many things to choose from! I highly recommend the Alaskan... read more
crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – our dineing experience to employees and especially to the lady thats screaming welcome... all crazy!!! wanted to find out what the half price was all about and sure enough all half size portions. worst of all the music they played was on a radio station and back to the lady thats screaming... we actually felt sorry for the chef whom made the mini sushi cause she was screaming at him too!!!
cheap cheap cheap – the food was good, not great. service was fine too. and the best part: 1/2 off! so my gfriend and i ordered a ton of sushi that should have came out to $76 but ended up $51. Not bad if you "don't" want to dish out typical sushi dollars.
Not the best sushi, but decent at half price. – My sister took me there for lunch, saying there's a place that sells cheap uni (we are uni lovers). Of course, the quality lacks but it's half price. I'm reading the other reviews about people who were disappointed but really, it wasn't all that bad for the money. I think the sushi man may have hooked it up a little, because the bill came out to less than $25. The service could be better but again, it's cheap sushi. All in all, I guess I would recommend it to people who want su... read more
