I had terrible sciatica and back pain. I saw Dr. Alvernia , a neurosurgeon, and he ordered tests-MRI & X-Rays. I was scheduled for surgery on my L-4 & L-5. A disk had spilled out & was causing pain. I had a herniated L5/S1 disc in 2020 that was excruciating. I was recommended to Dr Alvernia by the orthopedic surgeon and was told by a couple of doctors he does not rush to choose surgery and they would also recommend him. I had always heard "you have to go to Shreveport or Baton Rouge to have back surgery done" but I decided to give him a chance. I'm glad I did. I saw Dr. Alvernia for a herniated disc. He did my surgery. Amazing staff. From Janelle to Dr. Alvernia. They were so attentive and very helpful. Dr. Alvernia is extremely smart and took his time to know me and know exactly what I needed. Even after surgery, in the hospital, he made sure I was closely monitored and well taken care of. Dr. Alvernia is very impressionable with how he takes the time with his patience going over the procedure in detail. He is thorough with his patience and the surgery. He goes over the surgery with the family after the procedure is finished. I would recommend him to any and everyone.
I suffer with back pain for several years without any relief. I underwent lumbar surgery 6/2022. I can say that the back pain is so much better. I was recommend Dr. Alvernia to anyone. The care after surgery was so awesome. Dr. Alvernia was so caring and compassionate during the after care. Bed side manners are awesome. The staff is awesome and I couldn't ask for better care.
I began seeing Dr Alvernia for my herniated disc in my back. I was tired of constantly being in pain and all of the pain medication that I was on. I had been to different drs for my neck and Dr. Alvernia was the only one that actually sit and listened. He had me to have a x-ray and CT and explained in detail what was going on. I had ACDF surgery from C5-T1 and the pain was gone when I woke up from surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Alvernia.
