I had a cardiac catheterization done at Stony Brook Hospital on 3/15/2019. They found 4 blocked arteries which had between 80% and 100% blockage. After the procedure I met with Dr. Chikwe to discuss my options. She took the time to answer all questions from myself and my family. Amazing physician. Dr Chikwe performed open hear surgery on my mother and I have to say that we met Dr Chikwe the night before surgery and she was caring, reassuring and a true professional. My family and I are so grateful to Dr. Chikwe for all she did for my mom.

Simply cannot say enough about Dr. Chikwe. Even though she is the Chief, which clearly means she is the best of the best, the title is just that...a title. She is gentile, compassionate, and communicates with a quite confidence that puts you at ease. More importantly, she gets the job done, and does it REALLY well. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Chikwe, and her entire staff, for not only saving my life, but also making be feel important and taking such great care of me. [O-H Quadruple Bypass]

Dr. Chikwe performed an elective heart value surgery on my mother on 1/24/18, what should have been a routine 4 hours surgery took 10 hours and 22 units of blood. My mother was intubated for 9 days and sedated. The removed the intubation tube in the ICU and could not wake my mother up, she was fitted with a trachea and lay in the ICU for 50 plus days. During this time a main artery exploded in her arm which resulted in two surgeries and a bone infection. My mother passed away on day #128.

I couldn't have asked for better care from Dr. Chikwe,from the moment she introduced herself till the moment i moved to rehab Dr. Chikwe was in touch with my family and myself, explained every step and reassured us that everything is going to be fine.Dr. Chikwe is not a person of a lot of conversations but very informative and professional.I had quadruple bypass,and the scare is almost unseen,Dr. Chikwe is an amazing Heart surgeon and a wonderful human being. I am highly recommend her to all
