Dr. Chikwe was very kind and caring. She explained in detail the issue of my Mitral Valve problem and the type of surgery she would perform to correct the problem. She also explained in detail the recovery process and answered the questions I had.
He was not my primary surgeon but part of the team and did well

I feel incredibly lucky to have had Dr.Chickwe and her team take care of me. Beside being superbly trained and highly skilled, Dr. Chickwe is kind, thorough, communicates exceptionally well and, importantly, has a comforting sense of humor. Her team radiates the same careful, caring attitude. My surgery and recovery has been, to me, nothing short of miraculous. I feel extremely fortunate to have had Dr. Chickwe as my surgeon.

I was diagnosed with ascending aortic aneurysm and bicuspid aortic aneurysm which would require open heart surgery. My cardiologist recommended I consult with the surgery department and that I make an appointment to see Dr. Chikwe. We can’t really say how Dr Chickwe is. We had seen her being interviewed many times on Heartvalvesurgery.com. So when my husband was diagnosed with needing mitral valve surgery with a very complicated case he wanted to pursue a minimally invasive or robotic solution so we reached out to Dr Chickwe’s office. We spoke to a lady named Mary. She seemed reluctant to assist however she sent us what we would need to provide and we responded with several emails with questions we had and never received a reply. Dr. Chikwe performed robotic mitral valve surgery on me in early June 2023. She was able to repair my heart, without the need for any additional heart meds after surgery. I was out of the hospital 4 days after surgery and am well back on the road to recovery. Dr. Chikwe and the team at Cedar Sinai are amazing healthcare professionals!

Dr. Chikwe performed robotic assisted mitral valve repair via 5 cm mini-thoracotomy, left atrial appendage closure and left atrial cryomaze on 9/22/22. She saved my life! Before the surgery, I was not able to breath and I was gasping for air all the time. Dr. Chikwe is the best of the best! Dr. Chikwe successfully performed a challenging robotic mitral valve repair surgery on my dad, whose concave chest bone structure posed a unique challenge. Dr. Chikwe masterfully navigated the surgery despite the challenges posed by my dad's bone structure and was able to successfully make the repair.
