CLOSED FOR THE SEASON, Thank you for another great summer! An Outer Banks tradition, John's has been a favorite with locals and vacationers since 1977! Serving Fresh Tuna and Fried Dolphin served with homemade tartar sauce or fresh made cocktail sauce. Also available many flavor of malt, fresh fruit milkshake and other tasty ice cream treats. John's gives free ice cream to dogs, horses, rabbits, skunks and any other type of pet that you would bring to John's would earn you a "puppy cup."

Fresh Food & Great Service.
I've been going here since I was a little kid! We always make a point to make it to John's while we're down! They have the best shakes and the food is so fresh and hot off the grill! We love it and suggest it to anyone that goes to the outer banks!

Very disappointing. Food was good, however, incredibly inefficient service that was also rude. The lady working the window yelled at my son when we returned the buzzer. She barked at my brother saying they had no cheese for fries. The management had no customer service skills. Go to Spanky’s on the highway. Vast menu, super efficient, cheaper and much better tasting. Super service, too!
Helpful staff and pleasant attitude. Dolphin basket hit the spot and the fried okra was great. Nice beach spot and highly recommend.
Had the best softshell crab sandwich ever and for a absolutely fantastic price!
Yum I always get the dolphin basket and a peach shake. It is the best. The fried okra is a winner too.
