DISGRACEFUL!!! SHOCKING exchange rate!!!! My daughter bought 8,400 Turkish Lira today from John Lewis’s money exchange, which cost her £200. I compared it with what my bank (Revolut) would have charged for the same amount - £162!!! John Lewis charged her £200 for what would have cost £162 at a bank. That’s almost 25% higher!!! Disgraceful. She’s very upset that her hard earned money has been taken like that by a company she believed she should trust. After travelling all day and going up all four floors to the exchange bureau, the member of staff who greeted me said that her colleague would be with me in a while. I waited while her colleague chatted to another member of staff, only for her to finally tell me she was closing down at 17:15 and couldn't help me. This was despite it being advertised on the John Lewis website as closing at 17:30. There was nothing to say the store would be observing bank holiday hours.
