My experience with Dr. Stokes was truly refreshing. He utilized an iPad to give me a full and complete understanding of my condition and the surgical options to treat my condition. I don’t think I have ever had a surgeon give me such a complete overview? His demeanor is relatable and possesses just the right amount of confidence that you need to see in a surgeon. Not arrogant but confident. I would highly recommend Dr. Stokes.

After chronic and worsening back and shoulder pain for 10+ years, I went to 4different neurosurgeons to get comprehensive opinions on what needed to be done. The 4th neurosurgeon I saw was Dr Stokes. I chose him to do an Anterior Cervical Diskectomy and spinal fusion C4-C6 based on his reputation, explanation, confidence in success, and 31 years of experience. The surgery was totally successful. Three years ago Dr. Stokes did a spinal Fusion on my L4-L5-S1. After having pain in a different area I saw Dr. Stokes and he showed me what was causing the pain. He spent quite a while making sure I understood the 3 different routes we could take to fix the problem.I met with his nurse, his P.A. and then the doctor who all were excellent in addressing my concerns. We will do a decompression and not a fusion and I feel like I am in the best hands to fix this.

We can not say enough wonderful things about Dr.Stokes. He absolutely is the most amazing doctor ever! He was so reassuring and informative. He showed us on an I Pad exactly what was happening with his back and explained everything in terms we could understand. He looked at the MRI immediately once we arrived at his office. Dr Stokes provided specifics of surgery to be accomplished showing exactly what would be accomplished. He visited daily after surgery. StFf provided exceptional support pre and post surgery. At office follow up his aide Pamela was exceptionally helpful by providing a wheelchair and moving me out to auto loading and waiting until car came then helping me in car.

From pre-op, to my spinal surgery, to post-op, I could not want a more professional, "top of their fields" surgical team! The office runs like a well oiled machine with amazing, caring personnel. Great experience. So knowledgeable, patient, easily translates the complex into layman’s terms. His personality jives perfectly with what people need that are going through tough situations. Dr Stokes and his entire team are top notch. He was even so sweet to my 80 year old Mother after I had to have a 2nd emergency surgery. He reassured her I was fine and that she needed to go get some sleep. All of the PA's are the best and his nurse and assistant go above and beyond. They never take more than an hour to answer my calls. Just the best team!
