My nerve and back pain had me thinking my time was up! As soon as Dr. Stokes came into the examining room he put me at ease. He had studied my particular problems and told me exactly what had to be done. My nerve pain was so bad I sat on ice all day with little relief. He said not to be disappointed after surgery if the nerve pain persists for a few months. I had a spinal fusion and laminectomy and woke up after surgery with zero nerve pain! Efficient and friendly. Every cares and knows their jobs.
He had a good bedside manner and used humor to help relax me; we discussed a major surgery (multilevel fusion). He took his time explaining everything and we discussed 8 years of MRI’s , physical history and progression over time. I highly recommend him.
In severe pain level at time of appointment. Waited 90 minutes in examination room. Stokes then cancelled appointment because of ‘scheduling’. Avoid at all costs.
Dr Stokes is very personable and up front about what he is gonna do in surgery! He is honest bout it being very painful but he made sure I was as pain free as possible during recovery in the hospital! He is Awesome!
He’s very helpful and he seems a great doctor And he is very friendly. He’s smiling all the time I am with him and that’s a great thing to me.

Dr. Stokes has helped me through 6 spine operations over 22 years. I would not see anyone else. I even traveled back to Austin for my last operation. He is superb! His entire staff is very professional and friendly. I have always been treated as 'special' in office, surgery and hospital. I love them all.
