Gross food poor service – I've heard so much about this place that finally I decided to visit it. We went for breakfast that along with eggs, mushrooms and herbs contained HAIR as well. When my friend brought the fact that some of the ingredients are simply unacceptable manager in an extremely rude manner replied " this is not HAIR, THOSE ARE EYELASHES" to her and took away the plate with her tastless mixture they call "omlet" in that place. My own experience was not any better; the New York egg sandwich ( I asked them to re... read more

I'm not sure why I love this place but I do! – When you think about it, it's deli-style, pre-made, refrigerated food! How good can it be?!? Not only that, it is quite pricey for what it is. Joan's is also a relatively high-end caterer - I think that's how they started - so that should give you some idea about their food and prices. It costs the same to eat at Joan's as a relatively nice sit-down meal that's made-to-order but I find myself craving Joan's and going back time and time again, especially picking up food for holid... read more

tasty eats – Joan's On Third is one of my favorite lunch spots. The interior layout is a bit overwhelming for a new visitor but you must realize that you can pay for your meal at ANY of the counters (deli, main, and dessert/coffee). It is often very crowded during lunch/brunch times and finding seating is incredibly difficult for groups of two or more; there is no room to move, people are standing inches away from your table by the deli. A tip to know about the outside seating which is most coveted, is that they often have w... read more

Reminds me of SoHo in NYC, love the hustle and bustle – It's definitely chaotic, but you have to embrace that! The line makes no sense, but whatever! The food is so worth it. I had the best prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich I've had since I moved out here from the East Coast. And the bread they use is so fresh, nutty, and healthy-tasting, yum! Reminiscent of a trendy NYC deli in SoHo, which totally appealed to me. Also, all of the side dishes are so unusual and great, what a diverse selection! I had the grilled artichoke di... read more

A lot of annoyances, but in the end the food brings me back again and again – Everyone talks about the lack of parking and seating, the crowded space where you stand to put your order in, and that it's overpriced, but Joan's food is terrific. The pickles can't be beat and you can buy some to go. We always get sandwiches and share the Salad Trio (a selection of three of their daily special salads) to share for $10.25. The Lentil salad is a standout. I can't go to Joan's and not order it. The Pressed Chicken, Bacon and Brie sa... read more

crowded, cramped and charming – by Amy Ephron from one for the table Artisan cheese in the display case, turkey meatloaf you wish you could make at home, fresh lemonade that?s just the right amount of sweet and sour, strawberry jam for sale on the shelf, Nicky (and Paris) Hilton at the back table but nobody cares because the Chinese chicken salad is perfect and everyone else has too much to do. Did I mention the cupcakes?! It?s the perfect place to stop when you?re busy, when you barely have time for lunch, but it?s also, th... read more

Great food, but tricky seating – The food at Joan's is really great (especially the tarragon chicken sandwich, ham and brie sandwich, chinese chicken salad, and to-die-for mac and cheese), but seating can really be a problem. The first-come, first-served arrangement is unorganized to the point of being crazy, with people almost fighting from a table! That said, if I'm not in a time crunch I'll go because I love the food. Another thing I really like about Joan's is the cheese counter. You can buy gourmet cheese to go, or have... read more

Good lunch place – A good place to meet up with a girlfriend. I say "a girlfriend" because it'll be annoying to find seating for more than two. A place for a leisurely, long meal it is not. Everything is tempting, delicious and tempting. I'd say it costs 10-15% too much, but I don't really mind. The system is whacked, however. Order at the counter, get a number, sit down, wait in line to pay after you eat...? What...? I loved the turkey meatloaf sandwich, cupcakes and the daily special salads.

Upscale West Hollywood gourmet cafe and market features luxe sandwiches, salads and decadent bakery goods. – After years as a beloved, bustling boite, this marketplace cafe combination has doubled in size. Sunny white walls surround tiled floors and gleaming steel shelves; cozy tables dot the interior and sidewalk patio. Celebs and locals crowd a buzzing deli counter for Mediterranean-inspired sandwiches like brie and ham, and tarragon chicken, in addition to items like salmon cakes and snap peas. There are also over 100 dom... read more
