History Established in 1987. The history of Wichita would not be complete without two names, Walter L. Anderson & A. J. "Jimmie" King. Anderson started our nations first hamburger stand "White Castle" in a rented, remodeled street car in Wichita, KS. King purchased the Wichita brand of White Castle in 1938 and changed the name to Kings-X. Have always love going to east side to eat breakfast but this time 8/25/18 Saturday was the worst ! The fork had thick dried on food and the water was dirty ( stuff floating in it). Bacon was so soggy and didn’t taste good. Waitress was nice but the service was not the same as I always had it before. Just didn’t enjoy the food and being there. Don’t think we will be going back for awhile , maybe they change cooks and dishwasher.

My husband and I have always loved Jimmie's but we wont go back again because they are dishonest with their bill. The subtotal had an extra $1 added in it without showing it anywhere. Then not only did they charge $2.19 for the coffee above, they also charged another $2.19 for a beverage fee. I brought up all these math mistakes to the server and he says let me see your ticket. They were having plumbing problems so we didn't get off to a great start. I got the Kings X waffle with an egg and bacon. The egg was runny even though I ordered it medium. The waffle was good but something I ate gave me a bad case of the runs so I don't think I'll be going back.
I love Jimmie's Diner for the music, the decor, the service, and the food! Our server was super nice and the food was delicious! I will be back!
I got a scramble - was delicious!! Even have vanilla creamer- huge win!! Rest of family got biscuits and gravy and biscuits were so hard could not cut through them! Asked for PB and brought chunky pb (yuck) that the waitress had all over her fingers.. clearly not going to eat or, then charged me $1 for it! Malts are the bomb. Waitress was very nice! Need to make biscuits fresh each day!

I made the mistake eating at 21st and Tyler this morning 5-10-2018 @ 9:30am worse service and breakfast I have ever had. They forgot my toast sent me 5am hash browns and the bacon was left over from the day before. I asked for the manager stated my complaint and all the big boy could say was he was sorry at $12.00 and some change. I told him I would ever return. He didn't care. Joe Wright
