I was involved in a vehicle accident by a State Farm customer. I was rear ended and police determined other vehicle at fault. State Farm "insisted" I use their shop to repair my vehicle which is illegal. Because I didn't use their shop they penalize me by using delay tactics to get back at me I feel. Mind you my car is from another state so I have to purchase plane tickets to get back to my state and back to try and pick up my vehicle. I've had nothing but great things to say about them for my auto and homeowners insurance. But when I applied to life insurance, I'm a 41-year-old retired Army veteran. Most if not all of my medical issues are due to my service to this country, yet they said my height and weight(68" 200lbs), alcohol use(I haven't had a drink in 3 years), mental health, marijuana use(CBD not THC), and chronic pain. We recently had hail damage to the roof of our home. A week later, and before we could even file a claim for this damage, our roof was further damaged by heavy winds, rain and additional hail. We filed a claim with our insurance company, State Farm. The adjuster's report said we had 65 shingles that were damaged and/or missing. I have had an extremely bad experience with State Farm The adjuster comes across extremely rude, and accusatory. First off, I do not want to be in a rental car forever (as she all but indicated in 08/9/2022) when I called in because of mechanical issues that I was having with a rental. My car was recently involved in an accident with another customer of StateFarm Insurance. The accident was entirely at the fault of the other driver, as determined by the local police. StateFarm gave me a total-loss settlement that was thousands below what it would cost for me to even replace my car with something comparable, not to mention the injuries I suffered. They only get 2 stars because they still have good employees that are competent. I bought a new vehicle, called days in advance of going to the DMV to get tags. Spent 45min on the phone going over in detail what my coverage would be. Got emailed a copy of the coverage as well. However, when I got the DMV, State Farm had never finalized the new coverage. So I could not get tags. Now I have to take off work to get this completed so I can get my new car out of the parking lot it is sitting.
This company is despicable and horrible. They dropped me like a led balloon because I had a claim in the first year of having State Farm. I paid my money to them on time and in full every 6 months. My agent did not even fight for me. Terrible company. During the painful 10 1/2 months to get my home fix they were NO help to speed up the process. If I could give them minus 1 million I would. My suggestion is to just pass right by the offices and not go in.
Takes forever to get a claim very bad insurance. The claim representative is nowhere to get in touch same with the state farm adjuster always voicemail and even you leave a message they will never call you back. Dont believe what they said “ Like a good neighbor State Farm is there” After this claim I will find another insurance company they just want your premium but when you need them they will put you aside they will just said we are working on it for how long more than a month now no estimate yet.
