They take care of our own putting Veterans first.
In and out of quick care in 20 minutes. Gonna be a 5 star visit. Not so fast! An hour and a half waiting on the pharmacy and still waiting.
The man/women working behind the desk was apathetic about helping me. His computer was “down”. If that was the only thing I would understand. It wasn’t, I was the only person In the place and he says again so apathetically that the wait was gonna be long, that I got upset. He then calls the VA Police on me who comes out and says he can arrest me for disorderly conduct. This is why veterans don’t feel as if they can get quality care from the VA!
This is the best one I've been to .99% of the employees are caring, and nice.
Yes, I do recommend this VAMC. I could not even phantom having to pay for 12 surgeries and 40 stays in the hospital. let a lone all the medications I have had to take over the past 44yrs. using this facility. When I see veterans at the VAMC in Altoona frowning, I always get a smile from them when I say "smile you are not paying for this because you paid with your service to our nation". And now, with Director Sigrid Andrews at the helm of this VAMC ship it is finally on the right course. There is always room for improvements... read more
