About this business

Not quite the oldest dining establishment in Albany, but one of the oldest, Jack's Oyster House has been serving patrons since 1913. It has remained in the same family since its inception as well, from grandpa to grandson, the kitchen has always been busy with the Rosenstein family. Its classic steak/seafood menu and proximity to the Capital Building make it a popular lunch and dinner spot for the city's politicians and power-elites. The menu changes often, however some of the delectable dishes that remain in rotation includ... read more

Nice people, good menu, great food and drink. Crab cakes were very good and the ceaser salad wonderful.

Thanksgiving dinner with at least 1 hair and a couple large bones. After manager insinuated that it was us he offered a free meal next time I come in. Yeah that's where I'd like to eat, bones and hair. I'm now enjoying a hot pocket for dinner.

we had a Party of 8 for dinner, and I must say our food was Great, the service was superior. Dinner, 2 drinks desert and tip was right about $100.00 per person. little pricey but it was worth it. Definitely would recommend it.

Food was very good and service top-notch. A little pricey - no entrees under $25. But a classy restaurant for a special celebration. Steak Diane was very good! They also brought out a small dessert for our anniversary celebration. Very nice!

We were a party of 28, though only 20 showed up. Each of us had to have separate checks as well. I enjoyed my meal of a t-bone steak with the russet potatoes and a salad, though it seemed a bit overpriced. There was never a dessert menu distributed. Our waiter who served our table 1st as the 1st arrivals did not get our meals first, rather we watched as second table was served all their meals 1st. Needless to say, we had a good time with only one complaint of a cold steak.
