About this business

Not quite the oldest dining establishment in Albany, but one of the oldest, Jack's Oyster House has been serving patrons since 1913. It has remained in the same family since its inception as well, from grandpa to grandson, the kitchen has always been busy with the Rosenstein family. Its classic steak/seafood menu and proximity to the Capital Building make it a popular lunch and dinner spot for the city's politicians and power-elites. Jacks so much history, wonderful food and great service. I love that Brad the owner goes out of his way to visit with us. Classy and a quiet dinner. Thanks thumbs up!

All I wanted was a damn good steak and creme brûlée - they nailed both. Had filet black and blue and the dessert and it was exactly what I needed after being in transit from Seattle since 4am PST and making it to them at 7:30EST. Rock on - haven’t been there for 20 years and it is exactly what I expected still. Thanks!
