About this business
While a tinello is generally thought of as a little dining room in Italy, this one is rather large, that pleases the crowd of older patrons who come here for excellent classic Northern Italian food without having to wait for a table. Seafood, pastas, veal and chicken dishes are all excellent; however, many patrons simply dispense with the menu and order what they want. This normally not much of a problem for the gracious staff. Jacket and tie are required at Il Tinello.

Thank you Il Tinello for making our 30th wedding anniversary extra special. Your food is amazing! Your waiters are so kind and professional, and talented too! The Caesar salad that is made at the table...wow!! Your dessert cart is incredible. Thanks again, we will be visiting again real soon!
We were warmly greeted and seated without reservations. 5Star food and service. We were in the city touring after our baseball showcase. Glad we found such an amazing place to eat! Loved how much my boys enjoyed the authentic Italian food. Everyone was very attentive which made our experience so enjoyable.
Had a great dinner at Il Tinello a couple weeks ago. As a Chicago-raised Italian food fanatic, this place knocked it out of the park. Food was excellent and the atmosphere makes you think you went in a time machine back to the Frank Sinatra 1950s. Oh yeah, one of the owners bought me and my friend a shot of very nice grappa before he left. Would go back to this place in a heartbeat.
Wonderful place, makes you feel like the old days, when going to a restaurant was about class and impeccable service, or should I say Before the "cool” age that really meant mediocre at best!
Out of towners who found this quite by accident and glad we did. Food and service excellent. If you like authentic Italian this is your place.
There were 4 of us for dinner...the staff was wonderful. Even though they were crowded, they never rushed us. Dinner was fabulous. I want to go back!
