I reached out to my TCF Mortgage Loan Officer about an insurance check I received for my roof. The insurance company makes the mortgage company co-endorse large checks. The load officer told me I need to call the main number. We were transferred, put on hold, passed person to person to person for over 40 mins. One person told us to endorse the check and send it to PO Box in ********. I proceeded to ask her additional questions in which she was unable to answer after putting me on hold. I had a loan through Huntington Bank and noticed my principal amount fluctuating. I called customer service and they told me that it was because payments were made at different intervals. I always pay my payment the day the bill arrives, so I didn't understand how this was. They transferred me to the loan dept to explain it to me and the phone was cut off after 20 minutes. The customer service is one of the worst I have experienced and I would not recommend this business to anyone.

Takes over 30 minutes to answer a phone here and they started charging for paper statements without informing customers through their primary source of communication. I have my email for my primary way checked and they "apparently" mailed a notification to my parents address that they were charging for paper statements but did not say on app or through email. Since I haven't been using that account, charges were started to add up. Terrible service and just a scam to make more money off of us. They should have at least refund... read more
They cash checks and do not apply to the mortgage! Completely ilegal and messy operation to allow this to happen
Horrible service. I finance a boat through them. I moved states and have been trying to register my boat in Arizona. Huntington has a lien on the title. Arizona will not register my boat until Huntington signs a form for Arizona Fish and Game. I have been dealing with this since July it is now October. I was unable to use my boat all summer since Huntington is not signing the paper and sending a copy of the title. I feel like I am being held hostage. Absolutely horrible and ridiculous. No one knows what they're doing, they give you false information-borderline lie, and they don't really care. They froze my account and closed my sister's account randomly saying they needed our social security numbers (even though they didn't need them for 15 years). They said they sent 2 unmarked letters that we never got. We gave them our social security numbers immediately- they told us it would take 2-3 days to reopen. Huntington Bank in ********* ** had terrible customer service. Waited in line for 10 minutes then needed to figure out a dispute. Dave said I needed to resubmit a form that was sent to my previous address. That's fine I just want to figure it out. Dave could NOT figure out how to print my new form to fill out for nearly 20 MINUTES!!! Needed to wait for the manager Tim to finish business with a man who he seemed to be buddies with. I have been banking with TCF Bank for a long time. Recently I have been having banking problems. I truly understand, because of the merger, TCF is having problems.My problem is why is TCF Bank not understanding me. Every time I call, your customer service representative is either irritated, impatient, non concerning and eager to put the phone down.I am not referring to all, only to the people I talked to.
