I was happy to get an account withTCF because they have free checking. The old saying is true, You get what you pay for. If I could give this bank 0 stars, I would. I could name countless things theyve done that are just plain bad business but now theyre literally stealing my money. I recently (3/2020) became a customer of this lender and i was able to send payment relatively easily, not the most intuitive technology like Chase and the big banks, but in August I have not been able to pay them no matter what I try.I setup a EFT from Chase to them, no go. I mailed a check, no go, I try to log into the site, it doesn't work and doesn't recognize my login any longer either. Worst bank in the world. it is scam not answer phone calls and resolve issues to collect late fees.
This is horrible bank . they have my equity line of credit, i have been making an automatic payments, they merged with ************* and deleted all my information, send me letter to re register. i have no new account no., i tired to contact them, no one answers the call, for days i call in and stay on hold and no one answers, send emails to their support line and no one answers. It must be scam to collect late fees from everyone.
It has never been so hard to make a loan payment. Their online site is a mess! I set up my payments on auto, thinking that would be easy. It wasnt because your account number is different from the one provided. Then when I finally got it set up, I get an email saying we are sorry for the inconvenience but we are changing all our computer systems, so you the customer will have to go stop those payments and add a new one. I'm not sure if anyone works at TCF Bank. I haven't been able to speak to a representative and I've been waiting on the phone for hours. Their new system doesn't report what I currently owe on my loan or how much my payment should be. I'm simply trying to call in so I can pay off the loan in its entirety and I can't speak with anyone on the payoff quote. To be clear, I can't get on the phone with anyone. I have been a Huntington Bank customer for years and it's the only bank my husband has ever used. I have always found their services okay, but the big draw was their stellar customer service. Recently due to a change in carrier, the alerts that I set-up through the bank were turned off (you had to go online and opt back in, but I missed that notification in my text messages). Huntington Bank deposited a large check and then locked my account to verify. That is understandable. However, they gave me 3 different dates when my money would be available and they have locked me out of my on-line account banking information.

This Bank discriminates against customers. Been having an account with them for a long time. I and other members we opened an account for our welfare (ass0ciation). Here we collect funds every 2 weeks and give to 2 members. All the collections deposited into the account and checks are done for the 2 members. TCF asked where the money was coming from and why we were paying the members. A detailed explanation was sent(dropped off at a branch) to TCF. TCF never acknowledged receipt of the explanation.
