When it opened in 1995, Hunter-Gatherer Brewery and Alehouse was the first of its kind in the city and is among the oldest South Carolinian brew pubs. That is because brew-pubs were allowed in the state after a law was passed in 1994. Its rustic-cozy ambiance is accentuated by antique light fixtures, African tribal decorative elements and wooden furnishing. Great food, drinks and service in a very cool reclaimed building. Lots of fun, and I'll be back for sure.
Love this restaurant! Has been my favorite restaurant in Columbia mostly because of atmosphere and beer due to limited vegan menu, but tonight I had the BBQ tofu stir fry special and it was soooo good! My boyfriend had the tenderloin special and said it was the best meal he has had in long time!
This is a great place to dine and just have a small meeting with drinks and a great time!
