When it opened in 1995, Hunter-Gatherer Brewery and Alehouse was the first of its kind in the city and is among the oldest South Carolinian brew pubs. That is because brew-pubs were allowed in the state after a law was passed in 1994. Its rustic-cozy ambiance is accentuated by antique light fixtures, African tribal decorative elements and wooden furnishing. We're vegetarians. So many options and it was all delicious! Best black bean burger and Mac n cheese in town.
This is our "go to" place- usually once a week. Good food, great craft beer, always friendly and professional service.
Great beer selection. Have been trying to get out and try all the local beer in the state. So far the beer scene in Columbia seems to be led by this place! Had a great time!
