When it opened in 1995, Hunter-Gatherer Brewery and Alehouse was the first of its kind in the city and is among the oldest South Carolinian brew pubs. That is because brew-pubs were allowed in the state after a law was passed in 1994. Its rustic-cozy ambiance is accentuated by antique light fixtures, African tribal decorative elements and wooden furnishing. Came into town to attend a concert and stopped here for dinner and drinks before the show. While in South Carolina, I lost my drivers license. I didnt know what had happened to it until I got a call from Nancy that they had found it and just wanted to confirm my address to mail it to me. Not only was the food wonderful, especially the Mac n cheese and sausage balls but going out of their way to locate me and return my license is the most remarkable service I have experienced in awhile.
