H&R block uses deceptive practices to upcharge customers without any way to easily downgrade. After selecting the basic service HR block said state filing was free. It required me to upgrade to premium to report crypto. Turns out I didn't need to report crypto, the form was deleted from my file but I wasn't given the upgrade to downgrade from premium. I filed with the **********, ** office and went solely for the availability of the Rapid Refund offered. They completed my taxes and after doing so, they stated that I was not eligible for the Rapid Refund, I was not getting enough of a refund to qualify. They would not let me change my mind about them doing my taxes, as it was already submitted to the **** and proceeded to charge me $389.00 for their services. Which they got from the actual refund. H&R Block internet Tax Software is flawed. After completing the tax preparation I attempted to E-file using the free code supplied by the company. They advertise that you can file up to five free returns. Everything was completed and ready to transmit to the **** I hit send. A pop up appeared telling me that my code was not good and I should contact customer support. Please save yourself some trouble and Do Not get your taxes done at H& R block with *****************************, located in Indianapolis Indiana works at different locations. I have used H&R Block every year and never had problems until this year. I filed my taxes like I normally do but immediately got rejected. I get notes on why my taxes were rejected and how to fix the issue but it will not let me fix the issue at all. H&R Block told me it was a glitch in the system and I should try again in a few days. I would have given zero star if there was an option for it. I filed my 2020 tax return thru them but It was never made available online for me to review. when I told them that can't review and want to use another firm they told me that I could do it but I would still owe them **************************************** to file thru them and now when I need it for filing 2022 return, it's still not available online and they are asking me to get it thru IRS since they can't mail me the paper copy. I filed my taxes at a local HandR block location in ** and decided to have my refund put on the Emerald **** that they offer for faster returns. I made a online purchase with this **** and it was declined but apparently there was a hold on the funds from the emerald ****.
