I tried to file my taxes through H&R Block online. I chose the Free option. My taxes are very basic and nothing special is needed. At every point they asked me if I want to upgrade I responded no and kept selecting to continue with the free option. When i went to file my return it wanted to charge me for their Plus version. When I reached out to them, they said they would down grade it, but it would erase everything I already did. I wonder how often they do this.
We have been doing business with h and r block for years. Today we went and our grand baby started crying and one of the women there told us to leave because he was being disruptive and she wasn't nice about it either! Said her client couldn't concentrate but the client never said a word! I know this for a fact cause we was right beside them. We will never go back!
I filed with the **********, ** office and went solely for the availability of the Rapid Refund offered. They completed my taxes and after doing so, they stated that I was not eligible for the Rapid Refund, I was not getting enough of a refund to qualify. They would not let me change my mind about them doing my taxes, as it was already submitted to the **** and proceeded to charge me $389.00 for their services. Which they got from the actual refund. H&R block uses deceptive practices to upcharge customers without any way to easily downgrade. After selecting the basic service HR block said state filing was free. It required me to upgrade to premium to report crypto. Turns out I didn't need to report crypto, the form was deleted from my file but I wasn't given the upgrade to downgrade from premium. Been trying to get a refund on my 80 year old parents debit card that was double charged over a week ago! $535.00??
H&R Block internet Tax Software is flawed. After completing the tax preparation I attempted to E-file using the free code supplied by the company. They advertise that you can file up to five free returns. Everything was completed and ready to transmit to the **** I hit send. A pop up appeared telling me that my code was not good and I should contact customer support. I have used H&R Block every year and never had problems until this year. I filed my taxes like I normally do but immediately got rejected. I get notes on why my taxes were rejected and how to fix the issue but it will not let me fix the issue at all. H&R Block told me it was a glitch in the system and I should try again in a few days.
