I am getting older and have been having trouble reading small print and the computer monitor. Unfortunately I spend most of my day at work in front of the computer and have to read manuals. Visited the Visionworks (VW) shop in Sarasota, FL after learning from a television commercial VW offers a money-saving campaign: "buy one pair of glasses at regular price and receive a second pair at no additional cost". Sounded like a great deal, but I was grossly misled. Selected a pair of glasses for $99. My subtotal was nearly $450 (approximately $350 for one pair of glasses & $80 for eye exam). Visionworks measured my pupil distance incorrectly and after waiting 14 days, manager calls with, they would have to remeasure because technician did not notice error earlier. Manager noticed problem after I called to pick them up. Also, sale person was quick to charge me for two cleaning kits that I didn't need. Cancelled order because someone at Visionworks should have noticed error and called earlier. Measurement of pupils for glasses need to be correct first time. I received an email reminding me of an appointment I made the year prior for my checkup. When I arrived they had no knowledge of my appointment and said I could not be seen. So I left work early to be told I should have called to confirm. There is no where on the email sent that states you should call and confirm, why should I have to ? They reminded me.

I went to the springfield, mo location for an eye exam and new glasses. I took advantage of the BOGO offer they had and was helped by a very new salesperson who, while being pleasant, was very uncertain about what he was doing. The other salesperson stepped in when he made a mistake in pricing, made good on what he told me. When I was called that my glasses were ready for pick up, it was late and there was only two people in the shop. I put the glasses on and I could not see anything correctly. I have NEVER experienced a more negative experience than I have with your Mankato, MN location these past few days. I have been attempting to order contacts through 1-800 Contacts.com and the order was rejected multiple times. I have TWO contact prescriptions listed with this location on file, an Acuvue Oaysis and Acuvue 2. I was in a few months ago and purchased a box of the Acuvue 2. I went to Vision Works in Monroeville, Pennsylvania with the intent of getting a contact lens and eye glass exam. The exam was fine, though I noticed the doctor wrote my eye glass script for progressive lenses even though we discussed my using "cheaters" for my close vision. Second they didn't have the contacts the doctor ordered in stock. I asked for and received my prescription--which under PA law is valid--it has the script, doctors signature and an expiration date of 1 year from the exam.
