Hotel Stebbins started life as the Ahnapee House in 1857 and has always operated as a hotel. In later years, the restaurant and bar were added to create what is now Algoma's only full-service hotel. Built by Charles Lewis Fellows at a time when there were only 4 framed buildings in Algoma, The Ahnapee House was built from materials shipped in from Racine, Wisconsin. Fantastic food, Great salad Bar, Good Drinks, and fast friendly service!!
The food served and quality of it was not representative of the prices and the menu. The fish buffet was mediocre. The waitstaff ate off the buffet while customers were eating. The owner brought her dog into the restaurant. The waitstaff eavesdropped in the conversation at our table while cleaning and joined in the conversation.
Great food and fantastic service! Love the cozy, classic atmosphere.
What can I say about my experience that would make it stand out as much as the staff and owner did? I cannot think of any words that can do justice to my stay. Everyone that works there created a superb, over the top friendly, extremely warming experience!!! I cant wait until the next time that I get to spend the night at Hotel Stebbins!!
Classy little hotel in the middle of Algoma. Walking distance to a lot of things. Very nice staff. Rooms are adorable and comfortable.
Good food at a nice price.
We love this place! The Hotel rooms even have keys!! Our favorite is the Epiphany Suite, perfect for the four of us! The food is great and the staff is wonderful!
