Hospice of Northwest Ohio served its first patients in 1981 and is the Toledo area's largest provider of hospice care. A non-profit, community-based organization, we are the only area agency solely dedicated to caring for the terminally ill. In 2013, we served more than 2,500 patients and families in their own homes, in nursing homes and at our freestanding Hospice Centers. the nurses and staff were so caring during my dad's time of need. they treated him like family. it made such an aweful time for my family a little more bearable.

I have had so many folks ask me why I became a hospice volunteer, for Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and truth is, I have found such deep inspiration and hope as well as an appreciation for life, itself, through this journey. It continues to be a lesson in letting go of judging, as well. That is a really tough one for me, but it makes me happy to finally be on the path where I can see that, in my life, judgment really hasn't been about the other person, it has been a true reflection of me. It has been a year since my mom passed away. I am so thankful to Hospice of NW Ohio for allowing my mom the option to be at home, free of pain, and with her pets and family. I also appreciate that I didn't have to worry about getting anything. They took care of it all....arranging for a hospital bed to be delivered, medications delivered, and someone available to me 24/7 to answer my many questions. And although I haven't taken advantage of it (yet), I also appreciate the continued offer for counseling. This organization was... read more

Both of my parents were taken care of by Hospice of NW Ohio, first at home and then as in patients. Lost dad at the end of June and mom Oct 22. I can't say enough good things about the care that they received both as home patients and as inpatients. The level of care, LOVING care, knowledge, and support that is provided is awe inspiring. They were wonderful with my father.Hospital and Nursing Home rehabilitation misguided us or we would have broaght Hospice in for my Dad much sooner. We were trusting our Dad' Dr 's wgo were contradicting each other and wished we were directed to Hospice much earlier. But thats a long Story..JUST HOPE YOU WILL CONTACT HOSPICE MUCH SOONER!!!!
