Received offer for our leased crv with 11,500 miles-$28k+ based on Kelley blue book. Confirmed with Ryan (sales manager) by email that it was a real offer. Arrived at scheduled time to otherwise empty showroom only to be kept waiting for over an hour. Ryan appears and says he cannot honor his offer because he is having trouble selling new cars. Honda of Oakland is a fraud. Do not purchase a car from them, either new or used.Last year, in November of 2021 I purchased a used car from Honda of Oakland. They were to reduce the price by $500 as part of negotiation and same day cash purchase. Fast friendly service. Huge customer waiting area.
Purchased a used Honda in January 2021. During financing, we discussed the "contract cancellation" option for $250 and firmly decided against it. Somehow, now two weeks later, I notice that our signatures are on the "accept" line and not the "decline" line. We were very very clear that we did not want this option, yet we were either led to believe that we were signing the correct line OR our signatures were moved.Because of this, I cannot recommend this business.
TL;DR: They asked for a full down payment up front on a ************ car (not on the lot,) they kept my key to MY CAR after they looked at it, and they wanted my title too! Very shady when it comes to the vehicle service contract (VSC). I stated I was not interested in the maintenance package or extended warranty, and they were added to my loan. I contacted the agency that manages those contracts to cancel them, and Honda of Oakland reinstated them without my consent or notifying me at any point. I had to file a complaint and go over their heads to get it resolved. The woman who handles the contracts in the business office never returned my calls.
Terrible service. Finance manager lies to get deals done. Then when deal fails they refund your down payment in the form of a check thats not valid for ************************************************************************ cash. Terrible experience for the first time car buyer.
After a great experience buying our Honda Clarity three years ago, we decided to purchase the car from Honda of Oakland for the aprox. $15,500 stated on the original lease agreement. After requesting a statement of total cost to purchase, Honda came back with a total of over $18,500, including the sale price of $1,000 higher than stated on the original lease agreement.
