Do not take your car to get a new alternator at this dealership. They charged more than $900 for an alternator for a 2012 Honda Civic (part number: 31100-R1A-A01). Everywhere you look online lists the price as about $550. The **** for the part is only $789.90. The labor costs were also high, more than $600 for what is supposed to be about a 2 hour job. I know dealerships are typically a little more expensive than other shops, but this is highway robbery.

I have had my car serviced at Oakland Honda for 17 years. they used to be excellent. A year or so ago, they started adding a lot of "extra" stuff to the service increasing the cost substantially. I mistakenly agreed to have my clutch replaced and found out later that they charged over $1000 more than a quote I got from another Honda Dealer in the area. They marked up the parts 20% over ****. I will never return or trust them. They are a fraudulent business.

I received an email from Honda of Oakland stating there was a recall on my car. After directly asking via email three times the details on the recall, I went ahead and went to the Honda website to see if there was an active recall on my car. There was not. The emails felt scammy and that they were intentionally trying to get me to come into the shop to try and find work to do on my car. I will never take my car to Honda of Oakland ever again. They also never told me via email what the issue with my car was (I guess they didn... read more

Do not go here under any circumstances! They defraud you out of your money through manipulation, deception, utter lies, and misrepresentation of the facts. And then they turn around and lie again and again to cover their previous lies when you catch them with their hands in the cookie jar. They are all about selling BS packages that your car really doesn't need and it's not even recommended by the manufacturer. They charge you almost $300/hr for a simple oil and filter change and a bunch of inspection. And to top it off, the... read more

Took car (2022 civic) in for standard service and was charged for items and service above what was required by Honda. Left several messages since the June 7th service date with the service department to discuss issue but none of my calls were returned

My daughter when in for a basic ****** mile service that was indicated on the service code of her Honda ********** change, tire rotation, filter change, check fluids, etc.). They charged $1,150!!! When asked to explain the charge, the service representative gave a load of B.S.!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! They are cheats and a rip-off!!! They advertise an $89 oil change, $25 tire rotation, free inspection, etc. but their explanation of the exorbitant charge was that it was a service package and the regular prices di... read more

I believe there was a change of ownership sometime in 2021 and that is when this dealership went downhill quickly. We had taken our three Hondas to Honda of Oakland since 2011. However once the dealership changed ownership - the service department upcharged for unnecessary car repairs. (Told me that I had to buy new tires every 18 months for our 2012 Accord - just one example.). The service department would call and harass us stating our cars were in need of service. Literally would call 2x a day and leave voice messages. Ev... read more

Shady practices at Honda of Oakland! Tl;dr: Don't pay for an extended warranty or other add-ons!I called to cancel my extended warranty and was transferred to Finance, to be put on hold for more than 10 min and have the call dropped. I called back later and asked to be transferred to Finance. This time they picked up quickly, but when I asked to cancel my extended warranty I was told that I had to do so in person. I told them it was a long drive and I couldn't come out in person, and asked if I could send in a form with my s... read more

Recently I had my 2018 Honda CRV in for a 30K service at Honda of Oakland. I was not having any problems with the car, just needed service. I was surprised when the Advisor told me I had 3 options for my 30K maintenance service. All options ranged from $1500 to almost $2000. A 5-year car with low milage, no problems other than needing a routine 30K service cost me over $1700 dollars. When speaking to ******* Honda they explained that each dealer can set their own price for services and that each dealer is required to do the ... read more
