House had a basement full of junk dating back to the 2000s (there were bootleg cds among the detritus), house was dirty and shabby, then landlord started trying to cap our utility use despite it not being in the contract or particularly high, he controlled it through a prepaid meter..., the deposit is a non-refundable "damage assurance payment", landlord is a crook, Avoid!

Very poorly managed. The contracts are not specific to a room in a house so they can move you to any house and any room at 2 weeks notice if they want. On the first day of my tenancy I showed up and the room was not ready for another week. No inventory checks on moving in or out and you will be ignored when trying to get your deposit back at the end of your tenancy. A true scammer, first flat since got in Manchester and seriously, avoid at all cost! House is a disgrace, management non existing, and deposit lost to this unbelievable fraudulent company.
