Love that Steak! – I am not real crazy about chain restaurants, but this is a great standard. I have tried filet mignon all over the city (thanks to a steak-loving ex boyfriend), and this is my favorite. It is so good that I don't even like to order anything else on the menu. TOTALLY NOT IMPRESSED!!!! – ATMOSPHERE WAS GOOD, BUT (AND THIS IS A STRONG BUT!!!!) THE MAIN COURSE TOOK TOO LONG TO GET TO OUR TABLE (45 MIN; I CANCELLED MY ORDER) PRESENTATION WAS ON THE AVERAGE OF AN OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE. THE TASTE (ACCORDING TO MY DATE) WAS "NOTHING SPECIAL". MY ADVICE IS SAVE SOME MONEY AND GO UP THE ROAD TO ROY FLEMINGS. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST VISIT.
Best veggie burger and spinach dip in the world! – Houston's is my guilty pleasure. I always get the same thing - veggie burger (which is absolutely fantastic) and spinach artichoke dip. Not healthy - but soooooo good. Glasses of wine are quite generous.
Why did I expect more than a chain will deliver? – I've enjoyed Houston's in Florida so I thought I would enjoy it here. I guess i find it easieer to accept chain-food on vacation. The portions on Park Avenue are huges, but the food is really below average. A nice bar though if you have to wait.
Great Food and Service – Service was great. Spinach dip is a must have. Everything looked good, but alas my eyes are bigger than my stomach and wallet. Good for couples, dark and mysterious.
nice – Went here for dinner last night after reading some yelp reviews and had a great meal. We started off w/ the smoked salmon appetizer which a huge portion and really tasty. I ordered the thai steak salad (w/ avocados, mango, noodles, peanuts) which was really good but very spicy so be careful. My bf order the ny strip w/ mash potatoes and a side of cole slaw ? everything was awesome, we definitely overate but I don?t care, it was all really good. Service was fast and friendly.
Horrible Hostess, Blah Food! – My friend and I went there at 4:30pm for an early dinner. It was not packed at all and the hostess wanted to give us a tiny booth. I notice that there were plenty of empty larger booths available and requested one of the larger booths being that we had tons of bags from shopping all day. Unbending Customer Service – The food here is good. I have been 3 or 4 times. I have encountered 3 rules that have been a bit strange and they refuse to help a customer. What finally stopped me from going there was when I tried to meke a to go order. They do not take them over the phone. I spoke to a manager and he said that they are a dine-in only restaurant and are not set up to take to go orders (which doesn't really make sense) over the phone. Great Food! But... – Really nice food and drink, the fries are simply unbeatable to my taste, and if you go there it is ABSOLUTLY NECESSARY TO HAVE THE CHICAGO STYLE SPINICH DIP!!!! I'm not a HUGE spinich fan but their spinich & cheese dip is to die for. ONe problem, like most good resturaunts in Houston you can expect a 30 min wait if you get there at 6 o'clock on a Friday evening, generally the earlier for dinner the shorter the wait, on any school/business night chances are its not goin to be very crowded.
